Description

Born in 1902 Erno Goldfinger was a visionary Hungarian architect who moved to London in 1934After the war he became central to the story of British Modernism through his role creating new homes for London’s post war communities.

Balfron Tower in Poplar, commissioned in 1963 and completed by 1967 for the GLC, was designed around the utopian ideas of Streets in the Sky, it is now a Grade II listed building and one of the era’s best examples of modernist utopian residential design.

concreteSHED are a creative artisan business based in East London. They make collectable limited edition architectural sculptures of some of London’s most iconic Brutalist buildings.

Each tower is hand cast, combining traditional techniques with modern high-grade materials, because of this every cast in the edition is totally unique.  Made from Jesmonite, a modern composite that has similar properties to the new concretes that were devised during the 1960’s and made this new exciting architecture possible.   

Has a cork base to protect surfaces.
